iPhone 5 Release date Rumors--
It appears apple may be working on a smaller connector instead of nixing the accessory altogether. One article states Apple might have plans to ditch the classic iPhone connector for a smaller gadget. If the rumor is true, the new connector would likely be solely used to charge the handset. Though no one will know what Apple has planned until shortly before the iPhone 5 release date. The Apple smartphone launch is still unconfirmed, but sources believe the device will be hitting the scene late Summer or in the Fall.
It looks like this rumor would also go along with the earlier iCloud rumor since the new iPhone dock connector would only be used for charging. That would mean another method would be used for transferring files to and from the handset.
Additional rumors suggest Apple is working to completely redesign their next smartphone, which their fans will surely be ecstatic over, so maybe the new concept doesn't fit well with the current connector.
