Evan Baden was born in Saudi Arabia in 1985. His series The Illuminati attracted a great deal of attention. With great sensibility Evan Baden portrayed young people’s faces illuminated only by their computers, cell phones or other electronic devices.
For Technically Intimate, Baden finds images posted to the Internet that young girls have taken of themselves. He re-stages the moment of the shoot, and the clash between the sexually explicit images and the girly teenage rooms emphasizes the subjects’ vulnerability and the absurdity of the situation.
